For faculty members who teach Chinese and wish to exchange ideas about how faculty can use digital technologies effectively to support pedagogical practices and goals. Participants will gain familiarity with a range of approaches to using digital technology in Chinese instruction and become part of a community interested in future collaborations in teaching Chinese with these technologies. All participants will give a presentation on how they integrate digital technologies into their own teaching practices. (Liaisons' deadline: Monday, July 2)
Participants must have intermediate or advanced experience with the use of digital technologies in teaching.
Many faculty members who teach Chinese--a less commonly taught language that is experiencing a rapid growth of interest on NITLE participating campuses--have strong interests both in the use of technology in their teaching and in collaborations with one another.
Participants in this symposium will focus on teaching Chinese with technology and will have an opportunity to build a community interested in future collaborations centered on teaching with digital technologies. All who attend will be expected to give presentations on their or their campus's uses of technology in teaching Chinese. NITLE will seek to make the presentations of the symposium available for others who are interested via telecommunications technology such as interactive videoconferencing.
Single nominees will be accepted. Where faculty members are working in partnership with a co-presenting technologist or librarian, teams may be accepted.
Interested faculty and staff from participating colleges: To apply to participate in this symposium, please contact your campus liaison
