Eric leads NITLE's initiatives in managed information services. He works closely with NITLE's staff and community members to identify shared technology services and user communities that can help small independent colleges manage information services efficiently and effectively. He also works to develop partnerships and relationships with organizations that can further this mission.

Eric's introduction to technology came through his M.A. in English from the University of Texas, Austin, where he taught courses in "computer-assisted" classrooms. After that, he worked for several years as a programmer at software companies in the education sector before joining the ACS Technology Center. He served there as Assistant Director for Systems and Development, developing several large, mostly web-based computer programs relating to curriculum delivery, knowledge management, and collaboration tools.

Eric's hobbies include languages, skiing, snowboarding, and pretty much any sport relating to water that he has time to pursue: sailing, windsurfing, whitewater kayaking, scuba diving, and canoeing.
