Chris oversees the system architecture, security, and solution integration efforts for NITLE and our partners and participants. As part of our technology team, he works on our efforts to integrate technologies that hold strategic promise for higher education, such as Shibboleth, Identity Management, Moodle, Sakai, and others. Chris also researches new technologies and provides proposals and recommendations for new directions for NITLE to explore.

Chris holds a B.S.E in Computer Engineering from Oakland University and an M.L.S. in Interdisciplinary Technology from Eastern Michigan University. At Eastern, Chris conducted research on managers in technology fields and how their management choices impacted their direct reports' perceptions of their performance. Chris also worked at Oakland for seven years as a systems programmer, leading the institution through several technology and paradigm changes in the late 1990s and early 2000s. In addition, he brings to NITLE experience from the corporate sector, having worked for ADP and Thomson Healthcare as a systems architect. His professional interests include directory services, solution integration, and technology management and operational processes.

A resident of the Ann Arbor area since 2004, Chris spends his free time doing home improvement projects and trying to get a game of tennis in here and there. He is also very active in the community as a volunteer for the athletic department of his alma mater, Eastern, and a regular member of the Ann Arbor Computer Society and the Michigan Python User Group.
