The NITLE Instructional Innovation Fund (IIF) is a program of competitive awards designed to recognize and promote campus-based innovations and collaborations. The program, administered as four separate funds by the regional advisory councils of NITLE, will run through June 2008. Comprehensive participating colleges (.pdf, 18.09 KB) enrolled in NITLE for the 2006 - 2008 period are eligible to apply for support from the IIF.
In this participant-centered and participant-administered program, each of NITLE's regional advisory councils has been allocated a set amount of award money to use to support the campus-initiated projects of its choosing. Each advisory council tailors the program to the strengths, needs, and strategic priorities of its respective region.
The IIF program is designed to leverage and showcase the expertise and vision of its participating campuses in facilitating innovation in teaching with digital technology. The program places each advisory council in a central, decision-making role for its respective region, enabling each council to recruit applications, review and rate proposals, award selected proposals, and receive reports on the work that it chooses to support and recognize. NITLE will work in coordination with each regional council to publicize calls for proposals, recognize award recipients, and publish reports on recognized work.
More details about this program, including goals, parameters, and deadlines for each regional fund, are available:
When planning project timelines for proposals, please also use NITLE's publicity guidelines as a planning aid. The publicity guidelines outline how to access promotional support from NITLE for projects approved by the advisory councils.
Proposals must be submitted by a campus liaison. Questions about the Instructional Innovation Fund may be directed to Michael Nanfito.
